“I was an eleven-year-old kid, not particularly good at sports and with very few friends. That’s when I found the drums, and I loved it! The thrill, the sound — it was something I could finally be good at.
I worked hard and overcame many challenges, but one thing never left my mind: some teachers can be incredibly discouraging. Lesson after lesson, they make students feel small. It’s not us — it’s them.
After years of work and such like experiences, I made a promise to myself while I was still very young: no student of mine would ever have to go through that. I would encourage them every step of the way.

About Manuel
Manuel Filgueiras is a Portuguese drummer carving his way through the London music scene.
A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, his versatility spans an array of styles such as Rock, Pop, Latin, Jazz, and Contemporary music.
Manuel spends his time between live music performances and lecturing new drummers, which he loves.
Manuel has been the recipient of several scholarships, and participated in numerous records over the years, including “This Eager Heart” by Kouneni, releasing on March 20th on all platforms.
